These are three easy formulas for a great baby shower outfit. You can use these outfits as inspiration to put together things in your closet, OR find links to all these pieces below!

Here’s a quick rule of thumb: it’s always better to be OVERDRESSED than UNDERDRESSED.

1. Jeans and a blouse are a great choice for a baby shower.

If you want to go a little more casual, stick with jeans and a “better than basic” kind of top. Something special, a little interesting, and that makes your outfit feel like you made some effort.

IDEAS FOR THIS FORMULA FOR EACH SEASON

SPRING/SUMMER: In the spring or summer, white jeans or lighter wash denim would be great with simple flats and a better than basic blouse. Since your top will be more of a statement piece, go simple on the jewelry. A pair of gold hoops is perfect.
FALL: During the fall, dark wash or black jeans and a button-down or lightweight sweater make a great baby shower outfit.
WINTER: For the winter, swap the blouse for a sweater. Choose a fun one with details or embellishments.

2. A dress and casual shoes makes an easy baby shower guest outfit.

A dress is often my go-to for events like this. If you wear with a pair of casual shoes, like a slip on sandal, and then pair with a casual jacket, you’ll feel comfortable whether the dress code is a little more casual or dressy.

SPRING/SUMMER: A lightweight dress with flat sandals, block heels, orwedges would be adorable. If it’s still chilly, add a lightweight jacket.
FALL: A sweater dress with flats, booties or oxfords would be a great choice.
WINTER: A warm wool dress with tights and ankle boots will keep you warm and chic.

3. A skirt and top make a simple and chic baby shower outfit

If you feel like the dress code or event space calls for something a little nicer than jeans, but not too dressy, a skirt and top is a great option. There are endless variations you can do with this formula — short or long or midi skirt, blouse or bodysuit or tee or sweater, flowy skirt or plain skirt or embellished skirt…so many options!

FALL:A turtleneck with a pencil skirt and flats or boots would be pretty and simple.
