have any of you guys had previous natural births or more specifically a water birth?
I have not had a natural birth. I planned to go no epidural with NY last but there were complications and 7 minute contractions back to back so I opted at 7 cm to get an epidural.
I'm thinking about switching Dr's & hospital to try a water birth but before I go through the hassle I would love to hear raw honest experiences with the water birth route if anybody has some that they can share!

I didn't do a water birth but did do a natural birth with my last baby (epidural with my first) and plan to go natural again and have been seriously considering a water birth this time. I labored in the shower for awhile during my last labor and the water felt amazing so am considering going with a water birth this time. I thought about it last time but labor progressed pretty rapidly and I was feeling the urge to push in the shower at the birth center so didn't have time to get the tub filled.

I had a home water birth with my first baby. My contractions were irregular for the first 30 minutes and then they were just one on top of the next with no break. I had intense back labor. I had a doula who applied firm back pressure and I got in the birth pool. Those two things felt incredible. The water definitely helped me. I was able to deliver in the pool and lift my little one up out of the water! What an incredible experience.

One thing I learned is not to let the water get too deep. They added hot water which felt great but I started becoming too buoyant and should have drained some water.

There’s a group for natural birthing on this app if you would like more info! I had a natural birth and water labor in 2022 with my daughter and planning to do it again. I had a very long 3 day labor and 3hr push period with her so I’m hoping for it to be shorter this time because it was a lot mentally at times.
