Chapter Text
Ren just got out of Sojiro's workshop "Le'blanc" and was going to take a bullhead towards beacon.
He was in the old man's shop because yesterday the both of them finished making the Rebel's dagger and the teen left it in the shop so the man cold polish it and deal with the details.
Arriving at the bullhead, Ren couldn't help, but feel somewhat excited and nervous, he wouldn't partake in the normal entrance, since he was a very special case.
He didn't attend any hunter school before, he got, technically made it himself, his personal weapon today and got an aura and semblance a few days ago.
Also he was feeling very sleepy... maybe he should rest for a bit, since the trip would take some time...
As his vision turned to black, before he could enter into deep sleep, he was pulled into the velvet room, as he found himself in that bunker looking area.
"It is a pleasure to have thy presence here yet again trickster." Igor said.
"Also" Lavenza said "It looks like you've unlocked the ability to capture the shadows that are trapped inside the grimm"
"Wait, how do you know that?" Ren asked, clearly surprised.
The long noses man laughed a bit "We know of many things trickster and the ability of the wild card is going to be your greatest ally along side the bonds you'll forge through out your life."
"What do you mean but that exactly?" The teen asked waiting for an explanation.
"Unfortunately" Lavenza began "We can't explain that right now, but we are here to show you something else." She opened a book.
"Exactly. I am here to show thee the ability to fuse different personas, so you may grow stronger." With the lift of a finger two cards came out, one showing Arsène and the other Pyro Jack, At least the teen knew the name of the Jack-o'-lantern persona now.
"You mean fusing two personas together?" Ren asked, curious about this fusion of personas
"That's basically it" Lavenza said "Though you'll have to sacrifice your personas for the fusion."
The teen was about to object, but she beat him to it "don't worry, you won't lose them permanently. You may bring them back using the registered personas page on my compendium."
That calmed some of Ren's worries "Ok, please show how it works.
The two cards materialise into bodies with with sacks covering their heads and are put onto guillotines.
Both are executed and from their essence a new persona appeared. It was a blue little thing in a golden vase "I am Agathion, I'm glad to be back at your service mister!" And he became a mask that entered his soul.
"Wait" The raven haired boy said "But I want to get back my previous personas before I go."
Lavenza nodded "very well, you may take with you Arsène and Pyro Jack." As she messed around a bit on the compendium.
Just as she finished they heard an alarm "Well, seems like our time is up" Igor said "Untill we meet again Trickster."
Ren slowly opened his eyes as he found himself on the real world again. Strange to think that this dream he had a long time ago is actually real. He got up to see the bullhead was already nearing beacon.
"Yo! Hey Ren." A familiar voice said as the teen turned around to see none other the Ruby walking towards him alongside a blond girl with purple eyes wearing a leather jacket.
"Oh hey, Ruby" he looked at the other girl "Who's that?"
"That's my sister she is also going to beacon." The silver eyed girl said.
The blond gave him a smile "Hello, I am Yang Xiao Long, Ruby's older sister, nice too meet you."
Ren nodded "nice to meet you too" he said with the neutral face he almost always has on.
Soon after they heard that the Bullhead reached their destination. As they talked some more while getting of the flying ship.
"Well, we'll have to part ways now, hope to see you on here." The black haired boy said as he turned to another path on the academy.
Ruby and Yang found it quite strange, but shrugged it of for the most part, since they had the exam to worry about right now.
XXXXXXXX TAKE YOUR TIME XXXX XXXX
Ren found his way towards the head masters office after a good while. He knocked on the door and heard a "Come in" from the other side of the door.
Entering he found Ozpin sitting on his desk "it's good to see you again Mr Amamiya." Ozpin said taking a sip of coffee
"It's good to see you as well, sir." The teen said, taking a sit.
Ozpin put the mug down and put his hands together "Well, about what you are going to do for the exam is simple."
The man gave a smile that made the younger one shiver, but he kept his neutral expression.
"You Mr Amamiya." Ozpin pulled out a scroll "will have this scroll as your own personal scroll from now, that's if you pass."
"What's the test then?" Ren asked, he tried to keep his posture, but he had a feeling it wasn't going to be neither simple nor fair.
"Well" Ozpin started "You'll have to complete whatever objective you'll get on the scroll before the original test ends without being noticed, that includes any participat."
"W-wait" Ren asked a bit startled at this "I'm still a novice, how am I going to be completely unnoticed by everyone?"
"Don't worry about it" the headmaster said "it won't be that difficult since your semblance gives you enhanced physical and mental capabilities as well as giving you an outfit fitting for a thief, so it works out!"
The teen still had his doubts, but accepted. With that the white haired man got up "Well, Mr Amamiya, let's get going" he started walking towards the exit of his office, motioning for the boy to follow him, and so he did.
They eventually arrived at a cliff side, there Ren would receive a notification on his scroll.
Ozpin then looked at him "Well, you already received your first objective and your timer starts now" he said as he clicked a stop watch "I'll be waiting for you here, now start!"
The black haired boy nodded and bolted down the cliff side. He was running at very high speeds as he activated his semblance and an ability he recently discovered named Third Eye which gave him enhanced senses overall and made tracking and stealthing way easier. Once he arrived somewhere somewhat hidden he took a look at his scroll, so he could see what were his objectives. The objectives were:
- Retrieve a suitcase from the abandoned dust mines
- Slay the iten's guardian
- P.S: Further orders will be given once the objectives are completed
Even though the objectives were very straightforward, the dust mine in question was pretty far away from his current location, there was also the part where he couldn't be noticed by any of the participants, at worst he could be noticed, but he couldn't afford to be identified. Looking at the map he decided to go to the mines using a dangerous path going trough a dense forest, the other path was safer, but it was way more likely to find other students there.
As he started making his way through the forest, it slowly got darker and darker, forcing him to rely on the third eye.
Traversing through the forest was somewhat of a challenge, specially due to the luminosity. The teen was being very careful. Suddenly he heard a grimm roaring not to far away, turning around he saw a Manticore rushing at him. He saw it's claws getting closer and closer, he narrowly dogded it by bending back, right after the grimm missed, the domino mask boy used his hands to make a full pirouette, getting high onto the air, right after landing on the creature's back, getting to it's head and then ripping off the bone mask from it's face.
Jumping out of its disapearing body, he saw a humanoid with red glowing eyes wearing red plate armor holding a spear while riding a big horse. "You dare challenge me, the great Eligor? You shall be DESTROID!" the horseman rushed at Ren using its spear, but he managed to dodge by jumping to the air, them he put the rebels dagger into gun mode, loading it up, he shot it five times, untill he reached the ground, getting his weapon back onto dagger mode, he ran at the red armored creature while taking of his domino mask "AGATHION!" he summoned his newly aquired persona "EIHA!" an orb of dark energy shot out. Reaching it's tharget it erupted into a pilar of death clored in black and Red, the teenage boy smiled in triumph. However the creature appeared out of it, mostly unscaved.
"HAHAHAHA. YOU THINK YOU CAN HURT ME USING DEATH SPELLS? YOU CAN'T EVEN USE ELECTRICITY BY THE LOOKS OF IT" the armored creature laughed maniaclly, but that statement just made a grin make it's way towards Ren's face "Thank you for giving me a win condition" he put electrity dust his weapon, changing his weapon to pistol form and shooting 5 times at the horseman electical bullets making it fall onto the ground dazed. Seeing the oportunity Ren changed to the Rebel's dagger to melee form, rushing down at the creature slashing and stabing it. After a complete rush down he summoned his current persona to finish the job with ZIO, a spell that deals light lighting damage.
"W-WAIT!" the creature said kneeling in the ground, heavily bruised holding his spear "before you finish me off. I have something to say!"
Ren kept Agathion summoned "I'll let you say your last words since it's the least I can do." the teen said with a serious face.
"Heh" the creature laughed a bit "You really are worthy... You have the honor and bested me in combat!" he holded his spear up and trusted it's end onto the ground "With that I shaw bestow my power upon you!" as he turned into a blue mask and was absorved into him, with that, the dark haired boy got 2 persona's under his control. he also decided to use the DIA spell by summoning Agathion, so he could heal himself up.
After fighting some more Grimm that were relativily weaker he got out of the forest with 2 more personas, Pyro Jack and Pixie. Walking to the abandoned dust mine he saw a student or another, though he always made sure to keep his presence hidden, but he would stealthly cast DIA on anyone who was somewhat injured.
Soon he would finally arrive at the mine, it had a beautiful entrance that seamed to be made of marble, but it clearly was abandoned, which could bee seem by fractures in the walls and when entering, the decaying inside of it. going deeper into the mines he activated the third eye ability. He soon woud find a map of the mines in an office area of sorts with lot's of documents, he rechecked the Objectives and saw something interesting,
- EXTRA OBJECTIVES!
- RETRIEVE ANY DOCUMENTS YOU FIND IMPORTANT.
He looked again at the tables of the office area and saw that his ability made some of the documents glow in a yellow light, he grabbeds those and put them on a pouch in his coat. looking at the wall he saw another paper, it had a light blue glow. Taking a closer look it looked like a map of the mines. With the newly aquired map, he continued exploring the mines. The atmosfere was very unearving, specially with tRhe absense of any type of grimm. After exploring for a good while, he found a door that led to a big room, it also had ilumination and the suit case was at the end of it. Working foward he saw a Nevermore breaking trough the roof, falling down he transformed into one of the strange Grimm that could become one of his personas. It was what could be described as a Dragon with yellow and white fur with two tails with scales and snake heads.
"FOOLISH HUMAN!" The creature said slowly walking around the teen while eyeing him up "thy person dare invade my domain, so thy will soon know the meaing of the word DESPAIR" as he used MAEIHA, hitting Ren who wasn't as hurt because he had Eligor currently equipped.
"DAMN, what does despair mean again? I don't get the meaning" the teen said mockingly as he pulled his pistol out, taking several normal shots at the creature while running towards it. It dodged most bullets, but was still hit by some bullets, when the domino masked tenn got closer, it tried to crush his skull using his front paw, but he narrowly dodged it, taking a slash using the rebel's dagger melee form, making a cut near it's neck. Taking a step back he saw the strange lion rushing at him, going for a slash. Ren dodged the first slash, but was hit by one the snake tails, using it's fangs as blades.
he got a little back as he Summoned Eligor "AGI!" the teen commanded as a small fire ball shot towards the creature, but it dodged, rushing at him, managing to get a full blown hit using it's claws slashing hios chest and using another claw to bash the teens had onto the ground, his aura protected him from any fatal injury. After the lion pulled his claw back Ren jumped back, with his chest and forehead bleading, he casted another AGI spell, this time hitting the creature straight at it's face, making it dazed, noticing that the raven haired boy used fire dust on his dagger. starting to rush at him he transformed the dagger into a pistol, taking several shots at the creature and when he got close enough he changed it back, slashing and stabing the creature in different parts eventually dealing a killing blow as he put his dagger back at it's sheath and adjusted his gloves with a grin as a fountain of dark blood erupted from the creature.
Ren walked towards the suit case, grabbing it a notification appeared on his scroll.
- MAIN OBJECTIVE COMPLETE
- FOLLOWING ORDERS ARE TO BE COMPLETED:
- Help Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladona and Yang Xiao Long against an adult Nevermore;
- Get the suitcase back to the starting area;
The teen got wide eyed, the nevermore he fought was a juvenille, what were those four going to do against and adult type? He rushed out of the mine, trying to get close to the four girls location. Getting out ofm the dust mine and looking at his scroll's map. He was running as fast as possible. Once he arrived at the location he saw the four girls fighting the Grimm, he decided to give support without showing himself. Whenever the Nevermore would try to attack one of the girls, Ren would use AGI or ZIO to incapacitate the grimm.
Ruby was giving her all at slaying that grimm and when she and the other 3 girls slayed it, she smiled and screamed in victory holding her scythe up. while looking up she saw a person in black wearing a mask walking away from a cliff. She couldn't see well because of the distance, but she was sure she saw that person before.

Coming back to the starting area, Ren saw Ozpin clapping at him "Well Mr Amamiya" the head master started "you definatly exceeded my expectations, you weren't recognized by no one while completing your mission, even helping other students like a hero in the dark, truly impressive"
Deactivating his semblance, the teen bowed and with somewhat flustered said "T-thank you, sir" he said while doing his best to keep a neutral face.
"Well, you certainly passed with flying colors, since you also are living alone, you may move to a dorm in here early" the white haired man said taking a sip of his coffee "I'll also get help to assist you on moving into the school."
The boy nodded "Thank you, sir, I'll be going back to vale now, I'm really tired." he said making a yawn involuntarilly.
Ozpin laughed for a bit "Of course, using your semblance and it's many abillities for that much time should have made you exausted, I'll leave you be." he turned back "Hope to see you soon Mr Amamiya."
