There are a lot of different food recipes in Tears of the Kingdom, but if you're looking to boost a specific stat or increase your resistance to the elements, elixirs are a great way to do so. Elixirs are created using a mixture of critters and monster parts, allowing you to make use of everything from the crickets to Bokoblin Guts stowed away in your inventory.

The Elixir recipe card does not include every single critter that can make an elixir, but rather shows the most common ones. You can find the list of all critters used for an elixir just below the card if there are alternate critters that can be used. Some elixirs only have one.

How to Make the Best Elixirs

Unlike cooking the best meals, brewing the strongest elixirs works a bit differently. The type and quality of monster parts you use in your recipes doesn't matter as much as the actual critter that provides the stat buffs. That means if you want to make the best or longest-lasting elixirs, you will need to add up to 4 critters into the pot. You should also use your lowest-quality monster parts first to avoid wasting any potential powerful fusions down the line.
